How to Choose a Round Coffee Table Size 

Start with the sofa. A round table about half to two-thirds of the sofa's length looks in proportion, so a 70cm to 90cm design suits a 2 seater or an apartment lounge, while 100cm to 106cm fills the space in front of a 3 seater or a modular from our sofas and lounges range. 

Leave about 40cm to 45cm between the table edge and the sofa so a cup is within reach, and 75cm to 90cm where people walk past. For height, aim for level with the seat or a few centimetres lower. 

For a small round coffee table, the Nevada nesting set pairs a 70cm table at 28cm high with a 90cm table at 35.5cm, and the smaller one slides underneath when you need floor space. Round off the layout with a side table at one arm and a rug large enough for the front sofa legs. If the sofa faces a TV unit , line the table up with both and keep a clear path between the table and the unit. 

Marble-Look Sintered Stone Round Coffee Tables 

The Ingrid and Verena pair a marble-look sintered stone top with an MDF base finished in ash veneer, in natural or walnut. The Ingrid has a white top and is 90cm across and 40cm high, and the Verena is 85cm and 47cm, the tallest coffee table in the range. Each also comes as a pair with a 50cm side table. The Viola is 100cm and 36cm high on a cylindrical base in either finish, and it arrives fully assembled. A marble-look top suits a modern or contemporary lounge room. 

The product pages describe the tops as easy to clean, wear-resistant and stain-resistant. Use a trivet under hot dishes and wipe spills promptly. Weight capacity is 30kg to 40kg on the coffee tables and 20kg on the side tables. The Ingrid and Verena are for indoor use only and need assembly, and the manual recommends two people; our in-home assembly service covers the Sydney metro area. 

Mother of Pearl Inlay Coffee Tables 

The Naya is the widest inlay design at 106cm and 46cm high, with mocha cream and bone stripes patterns. The Silas is 90cm and 45cm high in mocha cream. The Abelene is 91.5cm across on a gold cylindrical pedestal, rated to 80kg, while the Naya and Silas hold 30kg.

Outdoor and Concrete Round Coffee Tables 

For a covered patio or balcony, the Kora and Cam are both listed for indoor and outdoor use and arrive ready to use. The Kora is a 90cm pedestal design in lightweight magnesium oxide concrete, 40cm high and rated to 100kg, in white or antique white. The Cam is 106cm wide and 44.5cm high with a textured, organic shape and an 80kg rating. 

The Alessia is a 100cm concrete table with a hydro-dipped white marble-look finish on sphere bases. It is concrete, not natural marble, and it needs assembly. The Cam and Alessia pages advise a penetrating, UV-resistant sealer every few months, and the Cam page also recommends a cover when it is not in use. Do the tables arrive assembled?

The Viola, Kora, Cam and the mother of pearl tables arrive ready to use. The Ingrid, Verena, Alessia and Nevada need assembly, with instructions included. 

How much weight can a round coffee table hold?

It depends on the model. Ratings run from 30kg on the Viola, Naya and Silas to 100kg on the Kora. The side tables in the stone sets hold 20kg. Check the product page before loading one. 

How do I care for a mother of pearl inlay coffee table?

Dust with a soft cloth and wipe spills straight away. Keep the table out of direct sun and away from strong heat, and avoid furniture polish, harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners. 

What is the best small round coffee table?
